'Born in Slavery' is Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers'
Project, 1936-1938, containing more than 2,300 first-person accounts
of slavery and 500 black-and-white photographs of former slaves.
'Voices from the days of Slavery' are recordings which present the
actual interview and thereby provide the unique experience of hearing
the ex-slaves' voices with their own inflections and various regional
dialects. |
