Belgrave Memories

East Midlands Economic Network Limited

EMEN was set up to provide support to voluntary and community organisations, business support organisations, minority businesses and social enterprises across the East Midlands.

While developing projects itself, EMEN now specialises in working with ethnic minority communities and other disadvantaged communities to help them deliver solutions for themselves. EMEN has now become a social enterprise cooperative company limited by guarantee, thanks to an Awards For All grant.

Researchers

Asmeeta Bhogaita first worked with EMEN as a volunteer on the Preserving Asian Heritage project. She graduated from De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) in Media Studies, has additional qualifications in teaching and counselling, has done time as a community youth leader, and speaks English, Gujarati and Hindi.

Bernard Greaves is a consultant, researcher and author with a range of experience acquired in the voluntary, community, public and private sectors. He was trained in architecture at Cambridge University where he was awarded a BA in 1964 and a Diploma in Architecture in 1973.

Additional Help

Richard Bonney was Professor of Modern History at the University of Leicester for 22 years between 1984 and 2006. He provided mentoring to the researchers and volunteers.

Margaret Bonney works for the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland (ROLLR) in Wigston and provided training on the role and workings of the ROLLR.

Colin Hyde works for EMOHA at the University of Leicester. He provided training in oral history and the use of the recording equipment. He also compiled this website.
