EMOHA material formerly on the Leicestershire Villages website.

Please note that the Leicestershire Villages website has been discontinued by Leicestershire County Council.

In the 2000s EMOHA added short oral history clips from the Archive to village pages on the Leicestershire Villages website. Thanks to Leicestershire Villages we were able to create a large resource of sound clips dealing with a variety of rural events and issues. The full interviews these clips were taken from are part of the East Midlands Oral History Archive and you can use our online catalogue to search for details about what recordings are in the Archive.

The links below take you to individual sound clips that were originally on the oral history pages of some of the villages on the Leicestershire Villages website. This is by no means all the oral history material that was on that website but it should be enough to convince even the most ardent urbanite that there is life outside the city walls!
