This interview was conducted as part of the National Forest Company's LANDshapes project, that ran from 2003 to 2006. The project team worked with local people to record and celebrate their culture and the heritage of the National Forest.

    In this extract our interviewee describes her journey to school, and, in particular, the lady that looked after all of the children's bikes during the day. She goes on to talk about her 'particular' friendship with this lady, and recalls some of the stories she used to tell her about her work in the hosiery factory.
