New Research Published on Making Leicester a Bollywood Capital

Research carried out at the University of Leicester into making Leicester the Indian film and television capital of Europe has been presented to key figures from the media, business, public and government sectors.

Jaideep Mukherjee, a mass communications tutor, presented his findings at a forum that included presentations by representatives of emda, MATV, em Media well as an Indian film maker.

Members from the University, including Dina Iordinova of the History of Art Department, and Ather Mirza of the Press Office attended the launch at the De Montfort Hall. It featured clips of a film that had been shot at the University.

Research also shows specific benefits arising across the main economic and cultural sectors of the region- travel and tourism, further and higher education, business growth, public policy, business support, private sector and culture.

The project is supported by em media, emda, MATV and Leicester City Council.
