May 2008
An interactive museum exhibit , based upon recent research conducted by Paul Longley, Pablo Mateos and Alex Singleton, has gone on display as part of the ‘Inside DNA’ exhibition currently featured in the ‘At Bristol’ science museum‘. The exhibit allows users to profile the GB geography of their family names over a 100 year period, and to profile the cultural, ethnic and linguistic composition of their home neighbourhoods. The exhibit will be on display ‘At Bristol’ until August, when it moves to the Centre for Life museum in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Thereafter there are plans for it to feature in exhibitions in four other UK museums, which will include Liverpool and Glasgow. The picture shows Paul Longley at the exhibition in Bristol
