  Conference posts Molecular Cytogenetics Presentations

Many of our talks are on Slideshare.

  • Pat Heslop-Harrison talked about Flax and Linseed Genetics, Genomics and Biodiversity at a meeting organized by Dr Adrian Brennan at University of Durham in 2023.
  • Before the pandemic, he talked about Polyploidy, its distribution and evolutionary significance" at the Japanese"Polyploidy, its distribution and evolutionary significance" at the Japanese Society of Genetics meeting celebrating the centenary of the discovery of the chromosome number and polyploidy in wheat by Sakamura and Kihara. The paper is relevant to his article with Qing Liu and Trude Schwarzacher published in 2023 Annals of Botany Special Issue on polyploidy to be published February 2023.
  • Pat and Trude Schwarzacher talked at The International Botanical Congress, IBCXIX, Shenzhen, in July 2017. Pat writes about the 7000 botanists at IBC here and "The Big Picture from IBC" here. Pat talked on 'Comparative Cytogenomics' at ECA2017 European Cytogeneticists Association, in the session honoring TC Hsu, in June 2017. #PAGXXV - Pat Heslop-Harrison and Trude Schwarzacher made presentations at the Plant and Animal Genome Conference XXV 25 in San Diego in January 2017 on Banana, ensete and Boesenbergia Genomics and Domestication, polyploidy and genomics of crops and weeds. These are posted at the molcyt.org site linked above and also on Slideshare.

    Previous 2015 information

Trude Schwarzacher presented a plenary talk at the European Cytogeneticsists Association conference on "Mendel, his time, and the rediscovery of his laws". The group made presentations on Musa (Banana) hAT transposable elements/transposons and on Linum / Linseed / Flax diversity at the Plant and Animal Genome PAGXXIII conference in January 2015. These are uploaded on slideshare and Trude Schwarzacher talked about Repetitive DNA in Plant Genomes.

Posts from the saffronomics Crocus sativus conference in October 2014 are here

I reviewed talks and my own presentation at the Plant molecular cytogenetics in the genomic and postgenomic era meeting in Katowice, Poland, September 2014.

Posts from Dublin, July 2013: 9th European Cytogenetics Conference to discuss chromosomes, polyploidy and genomics and 100 years after Sturtevant and the linear order of genes on chromosomes and from SEB, Valencia, July 2013 Wheat-Thinopyrum introgression work wins prize for Niaz Ali, Hazara, Pakistan :
