Our staff contribute to courses in the Leicester Medical School, the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Psychology.

Members of the Department make a major contribution to clinical training and also lead modules in Phase 1 of the Medicine MBChB course.

Our Department also offers placements for medical students pursuing an Intercalated BSc by research.

Research within the Department covers all the major areas of cardiovascular research, ranging from basic cell and molecular studies to clinical research. Leicester is one of the few centres in the country where there is an extensive combination of basic and clinical research in the cardiovascular field.
