[ELH] Bristol's medieval churches: St Clement's

David Sacks has demonstrated that in the late fifteenth century Clement's feast at Bristol was linked with that of Catherine two days later to provide a focus for corporation-led festivities that coincided with the start of seaborne imports from the French wine harvest. Clement’s association with seafaring made his cult attractive to Scandinavian merchants.
