Bespoke Case Study – The Joseph Whitaker School
One of our most exciting bespoke opportunities took place in October 2006 at Joseph Whitaker Specialist Sports College in Rainworth. The day was organised concentrating on 'Creative Science' and designed for their whole family of primary schools.
Over 100 teachers and teaching assistants attended. There were, in total, 9 different and diverse CPD sessions ranging from Using Puppets Creatively and Creative Investigations to Children Challenging Industry and Creative Data Logging. Each delegate was able to participate in three different sessions throughout the day! Sessions were organised to cover many aspects of teaching science from early years to Key Stage 2.
The day began with a keynote talk given by Stuart Naylor who inspired everyone with his enthusiasm and practical ideas for teaching science across the primary phase. Comments from the delegates included:

The science department from Joseph Whitaker also attended in order to make links with colleagues across their family of schools. In addition to the sessions a number of publishers, resource suppliers and the ASE provided a small exhibition to add to the day.
