PHOTOCALL: 26 October between 10am and 4pm at Sparkenhoe Community Primary School, Highfields

As part of national ‘Make a Difference Day’ (MADD), a team of volunteers from the University of Leicester will be painting the walls of the playground at Sparkenhoe Community Primary School in Highfields.

At 10am on Saturday, October 26 the students will arrive at the school and by 4pm they will have completed a mural designed by one of the Sparkenhoe students. Twenty students from the University of Leicester are expected to help out including some Sabbatical officers from the Student’s Union.

All the volunteers are members of Contact SCA, a volunteering association within the University of Leicester Students Union. Contact SCA has been established for over 15 years and manages to place around 200 student volunteers on nearly 50 different local community projects every year.

Make a Difference Day is the flagship campaign of Community Service Volunteers (CSV), a registered charity that creates opportunities for people to take an active part in the life of their community. MADD is in its 7th year now and this year their media partner is the Daily Express who will be covering some of the nationwide events.
