Professor Peter Jackson, Director of the University of Leicester Management Centre, has been appointed as special advisor to the Finance Committee of the Scottish Parliament.
He will be involved in an investigation into the Private Finance Initiative and Public Private Partnerships.
Professor Jackson said: “This is quite a hot topic at the moment because it lies at the centre of government policy to establish closer links between the public and private sectors as part of the ‘modernising government’ strategy, in order to deliver cost effective public services. The Finance Committee will seek to establish how the Private Finance Initiative and Public Private Partnerships contribute to value for money and best value.”
