Plant Sale & Open Day

University of Leicester Botanic Garden is hosting a Plant Sale and Open Day from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, 2nd July. A whole range of plants, displays and entertainments will be presented, providing fun and interest for all members of the family.
For keen gardeners there will be a large range of plant nursery stalls, featuring a variety of rare and unusual plants. A selection of local horticultural societies will also be present, complete with plant displays, ranging from bromeliads and cacti to Bonsai trees.
Children's activities will include face-painting and some small fairground rides. Music will be provided by Crown Hills Steel Band. Various wildlife and environmental groups will be represented, including Environ and the City museum service.
Director of the Botanic Garden, Dr Richard Gornall, said: "Visitors will be able to wander among 16 acres of wonderful gardens and greenhouses. It promises to be a great day out."
