University of Leicester prepares students for world of work

Students are being prepared for aptitude tests at the University of Leicester as part of a Career's Week programme of events.

They can also find out how volunteering can pave the way for work and gain assertiveness skills at the various sessions planned from June 12-20.

A range of employers and trainers will be at the Career's Fair which is geared at students preparing to enter the world of work, or in the penultimate year of their studies.

The Career's Week programme of workshops includes:

        Getting into Development Work through Volunteering

        Aptitude Tests

        Assertiveness Skills

        Effective Job Search for International Students

        How to Get a Job in Science 

        Job Hunting on the Internet

        Boardroom Challenge

        Information and advice concerning the issues faced by students with disabilities when searching for employment
