More than 3,000 students will celebrate success at the University of Leicester when they are awarded their degrees on July 19, 20 and 21. Many friends and families from around the world will be present for the ceremonies.

Approximately 2,250 undergraduate students will receive their Bachelor’s degrees while higher degrees will also be conferred on approximately 1,100 postgraduate students.

The degrees will be conferred at six ceremonies by the Chancellor of the University, Sir Michael Atiyah, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Burgess.

Professor Burgess said: “I would like to congratulate all of the University’s new graduates. The excellent results reflect both the ability of our students, and the quality of the University’s teaching and research. The University’s teaching has been consistently rated excellent by the Quality Assurance Agency in its rigorous subject-based quality assessments. The University of Leicester has also been placed in the top 20 institutions for research grant and contract income.

“The skills, attributes and abilities of these graduates will enable them to make a decisive impact on their chosen careers in the knowledge-based economy. We wish them every success and, in the age of lifelong learning, we are confident that many of our graduates will return to update their professional skills and knowledge.”
