April 2002

No 84

Want to create that extra splash of colour in your garden this year and raise your sights a little higher than the flower beds?

The University of Leicesterís Institute of Lifelong Learning (LILL) and the University's Harold Martin Botanic Gardens are branching out together in a new venture and catering for a growing interest - with Hanging Basket and Container workshops.

On Saturday, May 11, 2002, participants will learn how to create and care for the perfect hanging basket and container in the tranquil surroundings of the University of Leicester Botanic Gardens.

Two workshop sessions are available - at either 10.00am to 12.30am or 2.00pm to 4.30pm, led by Peter Ball of the Botanic Garden.

Each two-and-a-half-hour workshop costs £25 per person, and includes guidance notes and all materials to enable participants to take home a hanging basket of distinction.

For further details or to book a place at the workshop, please contact Lyn Brown on 0116 252 5963 or email
