Party time for Politics graduates

Two former students of the Department of Politics were involved in Leicester City Council elections on May 1.

Graduate John Fitch (BA Politics, 1990), who was for many years a part-time tutor in the Department, was elected for Abbey Ward.

Graduate Robert Ball (History/Politics 1999) came within a whisker of becoming the first Green Party member of the City Council. In Castle Ward he came joint third but failed to be elected when he lost in the drawing of lots to decide who should have the final seat from the Ward.
