Leicester-Pisa Research Colloquium

The eighth Leicester-Pisa Research Colloquium on 'Translation' took place in the Charles Wilson Building last September. It completed a collaborative research project supported by the British Academy and resulting in a series of books published by Ashgate. Papers were given by delegates from the OU, Berlin, Southampton, Nottingham Trent, Loughborough, Warwick and Paris, as well as by those from Leicester and Pisa.

The Academy has just awarded Professor Stannard 18,500.00 under its Networks scheme to develop a multi-disciplinary project entitled 'In Medias Res: British-Italian Cultural Transactions'. This will draw on the research base developed over the last eight years, expand to include the universities of Paris and Berlin, and result in a 200,000-word book. The funding is for two business meetings and four colloquia over the years 2004-09 inclusive.
