June exhibitions at Northampton Centre
During the month of June, work by artists Peter Kottler and Mandy Dawkins will be on display in a gallery at the University of Leicester Institute of Lifelong Learning's Centre in Barrack Road, Northampton.

Peter Kottler is largely self-taught, and paints, in acrylics, landscapes, still life and occasionally portraits. "His work has a luminous quality and makes a great impact on the eye", says Northampton Centre's Director of Studies Gerald Porter, who first saw the artist's work during the Open Studios fortnight last year. Peter Kottler's exhibition runs from June 6-30.

Mandy Dawkins' exhibition of works in oils and acrylics, some painted on silk, is entitled Variety is the Spice of Life. She takes watercolour and silk painting classes for Lifelong Learning in Northamptonshire, specialising in silk painting and ceramic decoration for beginners. She enjoys new challenges and presently uses computing and photographic techniques to produce vivid colourful designs on silk.

Both exhibitions are free and visitors are welcome. The Centre is open Mondays to Thursdays, 9.0am - 9.0pm, and Fridays 9.0am - 4.0pm. The gallery is occasionally open on Saturdays. For further information contact the Northampton Centre, Queen's Building, Barrack Road. Northampton, telephone 01604 251801, fax 01604 620544.
