Japanese students celebrate the New Year

Students from Japan celebrated the New Year at a supper party organised by the University of Leicester's International Office on Thursday, January 30.

The Director of the International Office, Mr Tony Pearson (pictured above, front row, centre), introduced Mrs Yoshimi Gregory from Great Glen, Chairperson of the newly- formed Leicester Japan Society.

It is hoped that more Japanese students will be encouraged to study at the University - Mrs Gregory has a temporary appointment to the University as a Japanese adviser to assist with recruitment.

Mrs Gregory and Mr Pearson will visit universities in Tokyo and Osaka in March.
