Obituary: Glenys White

Colleagues in the Library were saddened to learn that Glenys White had died on March 25, 2002, after a courageous fight with cancer over a number of years.

Glenys worked in the Acquisitions Section of the Main Library from 1981 until 1996. She was appointed as a typist but contributed to a number of areas of office activity and readily acquired the necessary IT skills to work with the advance of automation in the Library.

She was a very cheerful and caring lady, a committed Christian and canal boat enthusiast. Her funeral on April 4 at St Peter's Church, Oadby reflected these interests, and the large number of people who were there showed in what high regard she was held by family, friends and colleagues.

Glenys leaves husband Tony, two children - Linda and Ian, and four grandchildren.
