CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
- Scalp, cranium and meninges were intact. There was no evidence of inflammation or infiltration.
- The brain weighed 1200g and had a normal external and cut surface. However, there was some marked atheroma in the blood vessels that make up the circle of Willis - this is a ring of blood vessels in the brain from which the main arteries supplying different regions of the brain branch off (see image).
