Introduction to HTML/XHTML

The World Wide Web is at the heart of the explosion in the development of Internet data and information management tools. This is a short introduction to the Web's underlying mark-up language call "Hyper-Text Mark-up Language", or more simply: HTML.

Further information on the development and standardisation of HTML can be found by visiting the World Wide Web Consortium where you will find several resources for HTML. This course is a more gentle introduction.

Before you start....

  1. It is not a long course and but it will take you quite a while to complete. You use the navigation links down the left side of this page to move through the course but you will have to remember where you got to for when you return - or use your browsers bookmark facility.
  2. This tutorial should be viewable on any WWW browser

Have fun!
