My current research project, under supervision of Dr. Philip Shaw, investigates the early development of the Old English spelling tradition and the information this can provide regarding Old English phonology and Anglo-Saxon scribal culture. The project considers a variety of early sources of the Old English language such as Old English personal names and place-names in Latin texts, runic inscriptions and short poems.
Previously, I have worked on Anglo-Saxon coin inscriptions from the kingdom of Kent and the Kentish dialect of Old English.
