Collection history

The Dunton Bassett Local History Society Collection contains seven interviews that were undertaken by Dunton Bassett's local History Society in the 1980s.

What the collection contains

The collection includes interviews that record an array of detailed views on village life in Dunton Bassett during the 20th century, including family life and the village school, from pupil and teacher's perspective. An auxiliary fireman during the Second World War describes his wartime experience in Dunton Bassett and as a soldier in India.
