Meetings 2000-2001

Autumn: Friday 20 October, at University College London. Ólafur Halldórsson: ‘Færeyinga saga, Heimskringla, Hemings þáttr: reading between the lines’. Ólafur Halldórsson was Guest of Honour at the Society’s Annual Dinner the same evening.

Spring: Friday 16 February, at University College London. Alison Finlay: ‘Fagrskinna and other Kings’ Sagas’.

Summer: Saturday 2 June, at the University of Nottingham. AGM and Lesley Abrams: ‘Pagans and Christians: York in the First Viking Age’.

Student Conference: Saturday 3 March, King Alfred’s College, Winchester. ‘Sex and the Old North’. Speakers were Joe Allard, Martin Arnold, David Ashurst, Phil Cardew and John McKinnell.
