SCIcentre enhances UK educational practice by:

• Developing resources to improve primary school teachers' and trainee teachers' science knowledge and understanding

• Research and evaluation of in-service science education programmes

• Encouraging beneficial collaboration between teacher training organisations in Europe and beyond

• Promoting positive images of science and its role in modern society

• Increasing teachers' ability to utilise mathematics and information technology in science learning
