David Hopkins

Learning technologist appointed to the College of Social Science

David Hopkins has recently joined the University.

David joins the College of Social Science from the Business School at Bournemouth University and brings with him over 5 years experience as a Learning Technologist. With a background in internet communities, online collaboration, and eLearning conference activity David is well placed to support the College’s campus-based students and Distance Learning programmes with their use of Blackboard and other learning technologies.

David regularly writes about aspects of his experiences, learning technology, Blackboard, VLEs, Social Networks, etc, and other aspects of the application and implementation of technology in a pedagogic environment. He started writing about these experiences and activities on his eLearning blog in 2008 but has been an advocate of blogging and online ‘communities’ as far back as 1999 and his first role as a web designer. Using advances in social media and social networks David has made the most of what is available and has grown an International reputation for his blogging and conference activity.
