Dr Will Norton

Animal Biologist joins the University

Dr Will Norton has recently joined the Department of Biology as a Lecturer

Dr Norton obtained his PhD from University College London, where he worked in the laboratory of Professor Stephen Wilson and focused on floorplate development in zebrafish. He then undertook a first postdoc. in EMBL, Heidelberg, working on zebrafish pectoral fin development under the supervision of Dr Carl Neumann. Dr Norton then moved to the laboratory of Dr Laure Bally-Cuif (at the Helmholtz centre, Munich, Germany and the CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France), where he started to use zebrafish as a model to analyse the genes and neural circuits that control behaviour.

Dr Norton has been appointed as a Lecturer in Animal Biology in the Department of Biology, where he will continue his research into the genetic basis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and aggression.
