Corporate Identity for the Web

Summary

Since May 2000 the University of Leicester has had a specific set of guidelines regarding use of a Corporate Identity on any Web pages created by members of staff. These guidelines have been promoted/policed by the Web team within the Learning Technology Section (LTS) at the Computer Centre.

An increasing need for compliance with Accessibility legislation and advancements in the use the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) in Web page creation, combined with a desire for University Web pages to be more attractive shop windows for potential students, has led to the development of a selection of new templates in the Corporate Identity. It has also led to some minor streamlining revisions being made to the existing Web Corporate Identity. This work has been done with the full approval of the Director of Marketing.

Whilst the existing corporate identity will remain supported centrally from this site, it is our hope that any brand new sites will be made using the new revised templates. Exisiting corporate identity templates and University logos will continue to be available from /corporateid/ and the new alternatives will be available at /corporateid/new/.
