Nettleton describe their different experiences of working on farms in Leicestershire in the Land Army between 1940 and 1947. Vera Grain recalls being sent to work in a garden in Nuneaton and the Land Army peace celebrations in Leicester on Victoria Park. Kathleen Seaton describes work on the farm, milking, lambing and haymaking, and the uniform she wore. Miss Nettleton describes how she went into the Land Army, the conditions she experienced working on the farm, the hostel she lived in and the entertainment available.
