Occasional trips in the horse and cart to the station and laundry work generally. Recalls visits to Darley Dale Station where her brother was a porter and her father's job as a goods clerk. Talks about neeing a 'knocker up' to wake up for shifts. Talks about thefts of goods from trains at Rowsley sidings during World War II and recounts a suicide on the railway between Church Lane and Darley Station during World War II. Remembers running down to Darley to catch a train which was held up by her father so that she could catch it.
