Summary of interview item: The interview if of a self-taught bird watcher and natural history photographer. It begins with a brief description of his childhood before starting a career in printing. During his mid-20s, he became formally active by joining the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and met other local watchers including Chris Measures. Mentions good local sites for watching including Birstall gravel pits, Soar Valley gravel pits and Bradgate Park.
