The history of Harborough

A large borough to the south of the county Harborough encompasses both Market Harborough and Lutterworth. The Market Harborough On Line site features an excellent introduction to the origins and history of Market Harborough as a "medieval new town". More recent history of the town can be found at impressively detailed Market Harborough in the First World War site. Around 200 oral history interviews about the area are held by Harborough Museum. These interviews will hopefully be brought into the East Midlands Oral History Archive before the end of the project.
