Brief Biography

Gibson has taught at the Universities of Lancaster, Warwick and Essex. Educated for 5 years as an undergraduate and then postgraduate in Sociology at the University of Leicester, he rejoined the University at Easter 2003. He was Head of the School of Management from 2003-7 and made a Academician of the Social Sciences in 2005.

Research Interests

Having become interested in the issues of architecture and space and how these relate to organisation, Gibson published a book with Karen Dale entitled 'The Spaces of Organisation and the Organisation of Space' with Palgrave in November 2007. His interests lie in social theory and how this connects to organisation theory. Currently, he is working with a colleague at the University of Lancaster on the structure and composition of University Councils in British higher education.
