Leon Hunt
Senior Supervisor
Leon came to work for ULAS in 2003 after attending Nottingham University and subsequently working for Trent and Peak Archaeology as an Assistant Supervisor.
Like all of the Senior Supervisors at ULAS, Leon has worked on a large variety of projects from small watching briefs to large scale evaluations and excavations. The most significant excavations that he has directed were the Neolithic/ Bronze Age excavations at Rothley Lodge Farm in 2004-2005, which yielded Neolithic remains of regional and national importance including a carved stone plaque; the first example of Neolithic figurative art discovered for over a century.
More recently, Leon has largely concentrated on written work and to date has completed around 150 desk-based assessments for sites throughout the UK. He recently undertook the initial assessment for the search for Richard III and worked as site supervisor throughout the project.
