James Harvey BSc

James graduated in 2001 with a BSc. in Archaeology (1st class) from the University of Leicester.
Having participated in research excavation at Alchester Roman Fort in Oxfordshire for two successive seasons he joined Essex County Council FAU in late 2001 as a site assistant. Here he worked on various rural settlement sites before joining ULAS late in 2002, working on various urban and rural sites within the city and county, most notably St Nicholas Place, Leicester, and Husbands Bosworth. He has been directing sites since June 2003, having just completed a large phase of open area excavation at Willington Quarry, Derbyshire. His main area of interest is prehistoric settlement, in particular the transition to farming in Britain.
