Developing Your Researchers
Development of individual researchers, as well as research teams, was a key area identified by PIs. Specific issues that they identified were:
- Staff Review & appraisal
- Mentoring of research staff
- Motivating your researchers
- Managing performance
This resource will provide an overview and background to the issues of developing staff and then explore some of the specific ways in which PIs can address this. To date one module, addressing the issue of motivation' has been developed. This applies some of the classic theories of motivation and applies them to the research context.
