Managing Your Research Career
Finding the time to manage your own research career can be a significant problem for PIs as they juggle their numerous other commitments and indeed it was a key issue identified by the PIs who attended our focus groups. Reflection of any kind can be difficult when you are under significant work pressure and so we have developed some quick and easy to use resources to assist PIs in this process.

This resource will provide tools and resources that will provide support and guidance to PIs in the areas identified. Two modules have been developed to date. A needs analysis tool that will enable PIs to quickly assess what their needs are in terms of support and development and suggest the places within their organisation they can go to in order begin to meet some of those identified needs. A second module includes a document which highlights the complex question of what is expected of PIs and also provides information on some of the sources of guidance and support that PIs can refer to when trying to address it.
We are currently developing resources that address the issues of Strategic Planning and Balance and hope to make these resources available in the future.
