Undergraduate Degree Courses

The Politics and International Relations Department at Leicester is a thriving, dynamic, yet friendly, place. Politics has been taught at Leicester since the 1940s and we have always been at the cutting edge of British political science. At present we are going through an exciting period of change and adaptation. Our traditional and well-regarded single and joint honours programmes are now being supplemented with an innovative new single honours degree programme in International Relations. At postgraduate level we are adding a taught programme in Security Studies to our long-standing taught courses in Diplomacy, International Relations and World Order and Political Research.

The Politics and International Relations Department consists of highly qualified, committed and approachable people. We pride ourselves on combining intellectually demanding programmes with a friendly atmosphere where we strive to make all students feel welcome. Our teaching and pastoral care was rated excellent by a recent external review.
