Aims of the Centre

The aims of the Centre for the History of Religious and Political Pluralism are
  • to facilitate the study of the history of pluralism / diversity generally through an active research and publications policy and through teaching at postgraduate level
  • to promote an understanding of the history of pluralism / diversity generally amongst the general public outside the university (a) by such courses and lectures as may be thought appropriate, and (b) by assisting the publication of such works in the area of study as may be felt desirable
  • to advise, where possible, decision-makers and opinion-formers of the issues involved in the area of pluralism / diversity from an historical perspective
