Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a common skin condition which is by no means fatal.

It is very common in patients with HIV infection and - as with this patient - usually affects the face and trunk. This illness is a symptom of HIV infection and is seen as an indicator of poor prognosis with respects to HIV/AIDS.

However this was not the cause of death.
