Courses Available
The course module database is updated at the end of April each year for the academic year beginning in September. The course details here are the latest available but should be checked with reference to the course module database and departmental web pages. Staff study leave may mean that not all courses run every year.
Most undergraduate teaching departments of the University offer modules within the Study Abroad programme.
We do not recommend mixing modules from too many different departments or from different levels as you are likely to encounter timetabling clashes.
Key to Modules
Modules numbered in the 100s are first-year courses at University of Leicester. Modules numbered in the 200s are second-year courses and those in the 300s, 400s and 500s are third- (final-) year courses. Some courses are restricted to students majoring in that subject or have specific pre-requisites for individual modules. Further details of any courses are usually available on departmental web pages. All courses are subject to availability and may change without notice. Students must be accepted by the departments concerned, and all departments reserve the right to refuse students for courses to which they think them unsuited.
Courses taking place during the Autumn Semester are shown in the course listing as 'Semester One'. Those taking place in the Spring Semester are listed as 'Semester Two'.
Completing the Application Form
When completing the application form, please list the titles and code numbers of the modules you wish to take, to the total value of 60 credit units per semester. Please also list a number of alternatives in case it is not possible to take your preferred combination of modules - this situation may arise if you have selected a combination of courses from different faculties, when timetabling clashes may occur, if you have chosen particularly popular modules which are already fully-subscribed, or if the department concerned feels that you are not suited.
You should discuss your proposed courses carefully with your Study Abroad Adviser before submitting your application, as you will need to ensure that your credits in Leicester will transfer and count to your home degree course.
