The Department of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation at the University of Leicester was formed in August 2003 by over 60 members of staff drawn from many different specialities. The Department seeks to build upon its solid research base by involving graduate students in its management. The Leicester Kidney Care Appeal is a new venture bringing together renal physicians, research scientists and fundraisers to publicise and raise funds for the vital research into kidney disease and its consequences, and innovations in patient care, that are being pioneered in the John Walls Renal Unit and in the University of Leicester Department of Infection, Immunity & Inflammation.
