The primary aim of the degree is to develop an understanding of the past through the study of both documentary and archaeological evidence, in theory and in practice. A particular strength of the course it its chronological scope - from prehistory to the post-war 20th century world. The course is a full-time three year degree.
However, opportunities exist for our students to spend an extra year abroad studying under the SOCRATES scheme at one of the universities partnered with The University of Leicester. Currently exchange links exist with universities in Italy, Germany, France, Denmark, Ireland and Spain.
