The "Oxford" International Symposia on Archaeoastronomy The "Oxford" conferences bring together researchers from around the world and from a variety of academic disciplines, working in all areas of archaeoastronomy and cultural astronomy. The original Oxford conference ("Oxford I") took place in 1981 and they have been held at roughly four-yearly intervals ever since, with ISAAC taking over responsibility for the conferences following Oxford VII. Oxford VIII recently happened in Lithuania and Oxford IX is due to be held in Peru in 2011.

	Oxford II Mérida, Mexico, 1986	Publication: World Archaeoastronomy, edited by Anthony F. Aveni (Cambridge University Press, 1989) [now out of print].
	Oxford III St Andrews, Scotland, 1990	Publications: Astronomies and Cultures, edited by Clive Ruggles and Nicholas Saunders (University Press of Colorado, 1993) and Archaeoastronomy in the 1990s, edited by Clive Ruggles (Group D Publications, 1993) [now out of print].
	Oxford IV Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, 1993	Several conference papers were published in the proceedings of the parallel SEAC meeting, Astronomical Traditions in Past Cultures, edited by Vesselina Koleva and Dimiter Kolev (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences/Ocarina Books, 1996).

	Oxford VIII Klaipeda, Lithuania, 2007	The publication will be announced in due course.
	Oxford IX Lima, Peru, 2011	See here for the initial announcement about this conference. The first call for papers will be made in May 2009.
