Following a busy triennium which included the 2004 transit of Venus, the Working Group was largely quiet during the 2006–09 triennium but has burst into life again in the run up to the 2012 event. Members of C41/ICHA and others are encouraged to contact
Wayne Orchiston if they have an interest in the Working Group‘s activities.

Hilmar Dürbeck
Members of the Commission were shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death, on January 5, 2012, of Prof. Dr Hilmar W. Dürbeck. Hilmar was a highly respected and valued colleague who will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family.
Hilmar had been Chair of the WG since 2009.
