Major Responsibilities

  • Making POLISHED SECTIONS and POLISHED THIN SECTIONS for TEACHING, RESEARCH and EXTERNAL CONTRACTS.

  • ASSISTANT SAFETY OFFICER (Departmental) with responsibility for the creation and update of the DEPARTMENTAL SAFETY MANUAL and the abridged version issued to staff and students the DEPARTMENTAL SAFETY BOOKLET.

  • ELECTRON MICROPROBE operation, supervision of users and minor repairs. As cover for the Experimental Officer Mr. R. Wilson.

RESEARCH PARTICIPATION

  • CAPE VERDE 85 (marine data collection on the NERC. research vessel RRS CHARLES DARWIN) with Dr. I. Hill

  • KENYA RIFT INTERNATIONAL SIESMIC PROJECT (KRISP 94) with Prof M.A. Khan & Prof. P. Maguire

  • IANGASS 96 (cyprus) with Prof. M.A. Khan & Prof. P. Maguire

  • ETHIOPIAN AFAR GEOSCIENTFIC LITHOSPHERIC EXPERIMENT (EAGLE) with Prof. P. Maguire & Prof. M.A. Khan.
