UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering & Technology
This is the most incredible reference library and online community for women in SET. It is always growing with more resources, including statistics, biographies, speakers' lists, discussion boards and events listings. The Centre funds this Leicester initiative and is a direct result of the government's strategic plan for Science & Innovation.
SET for Women Mentoring Programme in Engineering
This site is for the University of Leicester Engineering Department's SET for Women mentoring scheme, also funded by the UK Resource Centre. The quote at the top of their website says it all: "In a world where it is too often assumed that all engineers are male, I will create a database of successful female academics and industrialists which will be made available on the web. These women, who have broken through the glass ceiling, will mentor the younger generation of potential female engineers."

This charitable organisation has hosted 5 yearsÊof successful events to bring together the women of Leicester, Leicestershire and RutlandÊfor educational, professional and personal development and networking. Their partron is the Rt Hon. Patricia Hewitt, MP Leicester West, Secretary of State for Health. The Trust are a partner with us to coordinate our special events, and this website showcases their growing variety of events they sponsor for women and girls.
