Hello and welcome to my Female Slang Website.

This offers an insight into the language that women aged between 18 and 22 use, as part of the University of Leicester third year English module, ‘Slang and the WWW.’ I have listened to a wide range of women, from the women I work with in a retail store in Leicester City Centre, and from my University of Leicester student house and friends. This provides a wide range of the women I come across, and will impact the language they use.

This dictionary includes 100 detailed slang words that were recorded from spoken speech between November 2009 and March 2010, and I hope to show some of the interesting, unusual and new slang words. The ‘About’ section has more a more detailed explanation of the research and the people researched.
